Dr. Ashong Simon is glad to be returning to the Atlanta area, which she calls home! After growing up in Stone Mountain, GA, she graduated from Emory University, then spent two years in Boston obtaining a Master in Public Health in Maternal and Child Health at Boston University School of Public Health. Drawn back to the city, she completed her medical degree at Morehouse School of Medicine.
Dr. Ashong Simon then spent four years in the Low Country (Savannah, Georgia) completing her residency in Obstetrics
and Gynecology at Memorial Health University Medical Center, where she was awarded the Outstanding Resident Teaching Award two years in a row, and the Chairman’s Award for Outstanding Professionalism and Service in her fourth year. Obviously unable to stay away from Atlanta for iong, she is excited to be joining Providence Women’s Healthcare!
She is interested in contraceptive management, low and high risk pregnancies, and educating her patients and helping them take an active part in their own health. She enjoys Spending time with her family, reading for pleasure, cooking and eating!
