Healthier, Happier and Longer Lives is a Lifestyle – Providence Wellness

When it comes to defining health and wellness, in many cases these two terms which relate to different aspects of a person’s being, become synonymous and is used interchangeably.  A person’s health has been traditionally described to be a state that is absent of disease physically, while wellness deals with how a person chooses to live their life which incorporates body, mind and spirit.     Why Wellness? A Partnership for the Empowerment of Women

A Partnership for the Empowerment of Women

At Providence Women’s Health Care (PWCH), we believe in the full empowerment of women. Our practice was designed to support and aid women of all walks of life with medical care from adolescent years to marriage and throughout adult years. We don’t just practice medicine, we foster empowerment and we stand behind organizations that align with our core factors of support. Community Support As part of our community outreach, we have partnered with Women Only Entrepreneurs (W.O.E). WOE is a night of galvanizing unstoppable women to be empowered and comfortable in their own skin while being united and uplifted in sisterhood. The event curated through genuine, honest and transparent conversations about the woes, obstacles, and triumphs of a woman’s journey. The event combines fun-spirited activities that embrace femininity and stir the soul. Unstoppable Women PWHC loves the honest support of empowering women in and outside of our practice. In our decision to partner with WOE, we looked deeply into these aspects: Is this a heart-centered mission? Is the core of this organization a safe environment where women feel connected and free? Is the message and mission actually uplifting and supportive of women’s needs? Will women be inspired to achieve their dreams? With an emphatic YES! as the answer to all of these questions, we felt inspired to become apart of this great event. Come out and join us! Give yourself the opportunity and permission to let loose, network and connect with a tribe of heart-centered women who are ready to express their inner voices and take on the world fearlessly! Providence Women’s Health Care’s First Annual Company Wide Picnic

Providence Women’s Health Care’s First Annual Company Wide Picnic

There was lots of food, music, laughs, games and fun during our first annual company wide picnics.  Our team and their families got a chance to relax and unwind from the daily hustles of the office and gather amongst food and drinks to energize and recharge. Dr. Shelley Dunson-Allen is no stranger to good moves as she hustled to The Cupid Shuffle. Nuria wasn’t catching babies this time…she was catching moves and took us back to the 80’s with a fierce electric slide.   Natalie and other team members were seen on the dance floor too. While serving our community is our passion and providing exceptional care for women and families is what we do, we also believe that a strong community is a great team of people who work to foster good will.  It was so much fun to see our providers cut loose and cut a rug during this event. A big Thank You to our office manager, Andrease Brooms for coordinating the event and Dwight Allen who cooked out a good meal for...

National Medical Fellowships (NMF) Honors Dr. Shelley Dunson-Allen

There is a saying that goes, “bring the flowers before the funeral.”  This is an old wise saying that reminds us to honor people before while living.  We are so honored to be a part of an organization where our doctors are recognized for their hard work and dedication for premium health care that is embraced by the community.  Dr. Shelley Dunson-Allen is being honored by the National Medical Fellowships (NMF) with the NMF Pioneer Award at our Atlanta Champions of Health Awards.  This annual event is scheduled for October 4, 2017 and honors individuals who have made a lasting impact on healthcare and diversity in healthcare. National Medical Fellowships is the only national organization solely dedicated to providing scholarships, awards, and service learning opportunities to medical and health professional students from groups underrepresented in the healthcare industry.  Our mission is to increase the number of underrepresented minority physicians and other professionals in the healthcare workforce in order to improve access to quality healthcare in medically underserved communities.  NMF seeks to increase the pipeline of physicians and health professionals who have the knowledge, cultural competency and commitment to provide quality healthcare for all members of our diverse society. Help us give a hearty Congratulations to Dr. Shelley Dunson-Allen for being recognized as a leader in the medical industry and a top OBGYN in Atlanta.  For more information on NMF, visit their...
